Journalism These Days

I've decided that it's highly unlikely to find any unbiased viewpoints on the current political race. I'm frustrated by all the smear tactics and emotionally charged conversation. I'm passionate about my beliefs and preserving those beliefs but I don't write about them for a living. I appreciated this article on journalism today. Let me offer a little disclaimer. I don't generally like Orson Scott Card's opinion, but I have to agree with his comments here. See for yourself (this article is sometimes a little slow to load. Be patient. It's worth it).

I completely agree with you on this. It is sad that there are not more unbiased reports clocking what candidates' histories are...everything seems so bogged down with slander and opinions. Go, Palin (still like her way better than McCain :)!

We dont know eachother but my husband Jeff Hall knows ya'll. So you have been added to my blog for sometime now, and every now and then we check up just to see whats going on in your lives. Since Jeff is the one who knows ya'll and I'm the one who blogs we dont comment on your page, but I have to one your latest post. I COMPLETLEY agree with this article. Not very many of my friends really know whats going on in politics. The main stream media has always been biased, but this election literally has made me feel like Im taking crazy pills. Its beyond ridiculous and unfair and has become vicious (ssometimes on both sides). Even this whole Joe the plummer business is a joke how they find out every bit of information about him they can and try to exploit him because heaven forbid he asked the "wrong" question to a candidate. Wow soapbox, but really I'm glad you posted it, its nice to know other normal people notice whats going on and aren't so..What I like to call "celebritized indoctrinated" If I disagree with people politically I usually just keep it to myself since its a touchy topic, but I at least respect them if they are TRULY informed and education on the records and associations of the candidates. Wow you'll never hear from me again I promise:) But your kids are gorgeous!
