I'm totally my mother's daughter

Over the years, I've had many people tell me I'm just like my mom. When I was a teenager, that was an insult. As a young adult, I just smiled because I still didn't really get what that meant. But now that I'm a wife, mother, and supposed to be a grown up, I love it when people tell me I'm like my mom....for the most part. :-) One of the many things in which I'm like my mom is this.....
Church clothes must coordinate...or at least not clash.

While I realize this is somewhat OCD of me, there's something about making sure my kids having similar color schemes in their church clothes that makes me feel good. I know, it's weird, but if you look at what my mother put us in, you'll get it.
Family photo, yes I'm 13 and so not happy about being in this picture...neither is Sierra. :-)
Again, somehow I got suckered into the coordinating outfits thing at 13. My mother had no shame.
Things got a little better.
Most recent Ainge Family Photo. Apparently, my children have continued the tradition of "no children smiling in family photos".

Seriously, though, I'm grateful for my mom and all she taught me (and all the things she tried to teach me that I ignored).  It's coming in handy as I attempt this mom thing for the third time. I love you, Mom, even if it is two days after Mother's Day.

It's nice having the freedom right now to not worry about coordinating. I just dress Briz. But I know as soon as I have my second, I will be worrying about that. Thanks a lot mom!

P.S. I need more pics of Teya. She looks like she's changed SO much.

What fun old school pics. I had a couple similar dresses (brought back some fun memories). How was your trip to AK, you back yet? Excited to hear how it went...
