There's Hope.

Today, Portia had her 9-month check-up. Here's her latest stats:

Head: 65% Weight: 19.4 lbs.( 55%) Height: 29.5 in. (95%)

Looks like she just might be long and lean like her daddy. Thank goodness. Her latest achievement is that she's tried signing "more" recently. Instead of screaming for more cheerios, she claps her hands together and says, "Mo!" She is also into everything, crawling everywhere and trying to climb up onto everything, including Palmer.

Yep, He's a Boy

During our vacation to LA, Palmer spent about four hours in the house (I think that included sleeping). He spent most of his time throwing rocks, leaves, sticks, dirt, and anything else he could find in the creek outside the Michels' home. Thank goodness for washing machines and hand soap. He's already having a hard time adjusting to not being out in the gorgeous California weather and we've only been home 24 hours.

Cheeeeessse!!

We took our family Christmas picture while we were in LA for Thanksgiving. Clearly, Portia does not have issues with shyness. She was hilarious during the whole picture process. It is wonderful to have such a cheerful child in our home, especially when the other one is, well, two years old.

Crash Landing

Palmer has a habit of playing in his room or crying for a few minutes before he actually lays down in his bed to nap. This is as far as he made it before he crashed. If you can't tell, he's sleeping with his hind end on the stepstool and his face on his blanket and the mattress. He slept like that for two hours.

So Happy Together

So, this is actually an older picture that I took in October. I guess h this is motivation to take more pictures. But I wanted to try out the different posting abilities of this template. So, here's a moment of sweetness from Palmer. By the way, if I remember correctly, they were watching "Signing Time" and Palmer was "whispering" the signs to Portia as they would come up on the show.

It's Official!

Well, we're finally catching up and creating a blogspot for our family. This is much easier and much more fun that just sending out emails. We haven't found that perfect family picture to put up yet (probably because we haven't taken a family picture since Portia's blessing) but I'll try to keep things updated. Enjoy!
