The Kids

So, summer has begun and we're spending our sumer swimming at Seven Peaks and packing. We went to Seven Peaks last Friday and the kids has a blast. They were dead tired after four hours of floating, slipping, & sliding. They slept like angels that night. I snapped this picture while the kids were watching the seagulls fly around (and while Portia downed Ronell's lemonade).

The update: Palmer had his three year checkup last Thursday (yeah, I'm a little behind). He weighs 34 lbs (75%)and is 39 in. tall (75%). Though he's still not potty trained and it kills me to spend money on diapers, I still can't believe how fast Palmer is growing up. He reads more words all the time and talks about school all the time. I'm trying to help him understand cause and effect (i.e., no potty on the toilet, no school) but he just hears school. We'll get there, I hope.

Portia had her 15-month checkup that same morning and got one shot. But she was a trooper and only cried for about 30 seconds. She weighs 25 lbs (50%) and is 32 in. tall (90%). Looks like she's still my long and lean girl. She's talking like crazy and I swear she says a new word daily. She has become a girl's girl, for sure. She loves to raid people's purses and she always pulls out sunglasses, chapstick/lipstick, and the phone. She immediately puts on the shades, tries to open the lipstick, and talk on the phone. Her latest phone conversations go something like this: "Hi! Ha' you? I yub you! Bye". Translation: "Hi! How are you? I love you. Bye!" Too cute.
